A marathon sing at the Plymouth Running Festival today. We sang and we clapped and we cheered for the hundreds of runners in the half marathon and 10K. 7.30am arrive to avoid the road closures, 3 hours of singing and cheering, over 100 Plymouth Rockies having a great time hanging out together and singing with each other. Plymouth Rockies enjoyed singing in the Central Library this afternoon. It was the library's 10th Birthday and they have been having lots of different creative events and musical performances this week. It was lovely to perform with a smaller choir to a smaller audience and it made for a really intimate gig. Well done everyone, you sounded fantastic! We had a really lovely intimate local gig yesterday in the local Library to support their Christmas Fair. I love all of our gigs whether we have a choir of 100 or a choir of 30 like yesterday but there is something quite special about singing in a smaller group and seeing and hearing everyone working closely together. The Crowne Plaza Plymouth - Part Two. This Saturday we were honoured to be a part of a big charity dinner for Pregnancy Crisis Care a local charity doing amazing work in Plymouth. We started the evening off with a flash mob of Sweet Child of Mine which took the guests by surprise. We then sang another couple of songs before leaving the guests to their dinner and a live band to dance the night away. A really lovely evening. Abbfest 2025. What a gig! I am so proud of each and every Rockie today for singing in that weather. We did it! It was either sing in the rain or go home. Well there was no chance of going home! What a fantastic gig we had today in the sunshine at the amazing West End Carnival in Plymouth. A fab venue with a really great crowd and a great atmosphere. Plymouth Rockies sang out proud in their City and the feedback was just brilliant. My favourites bits of feedback today were about the smiley faces in the choir and the sheer joy that radiated around the audience while we were singing. A very happy and proud Rock Choir leader. Plymouth Race for Life 2025. One of our favourite gigs of the summer season. Over 100 Plymouth Rockies singing and cheering the runners and walkers for nearly two hours! I think we got through about 20 songs today. Wow! We even sang a snippet of the elusive 'Shake it Off'. Shout out to those rockies on their first gig - you were awesome. English Riviera Airshow 2025. Back with a bang! After a year away we returned to perform at the Airshow today and what a gig it was. The Rockies were on fire and performed at the very top of their game today. The huge audience loved it and joined in which was great. It was lovely to see other Rockies in the crowd as well enjoying themselves. The feedback afterwards was unbelievable. I am so proud of everyone in my South Devon Rock Choirs. Kingsteignton Ram Roasting Fair 2025. Lovely summers gig in Chudleigh Knighton yesterday raising money for FrieNDs charity. Singing, tea and coffee and cakes on a sunny May afternoon. Very English! We always enjoy our local community gigs down here in Devon. Well done to all the South Devon Rockies for another great performance.

First gig of the year last Saturday at Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival in Newton Abbot. One of the highlights of our gig diary. Always a great atmosphere and great crowd. Two sets, two choirs, 120 Rockies loving the event and absolutely singing with passion and expression and a real joy! Totnes Christmas Market 2024. I don't think we will forget this gig in a hurry! Terrential rain, leaking gazebos, large white horses attacking the MD, light parades.... The Rockies were of course incredible. They sang their hearts out and smiled all the way though the gig. (Two sets as well! Must be mad!) I think its safe to say we put a smile on the face of everyone in Totnes last night with that wonderful performance. We won't mention the very soggy, very grumpy choir leader! He is ok now. merry Christmas everyone and a very Happy New Year.

Buckfast Abbey Christmas Fair 2024. Well that is a gig that will last long in the memory. It started to rain in the first song and didn't stop for the whole set. The South Devon Rockies still did a fabulous job and sang so well that the large audience stayed and sang and danced in the rain with us! We must all be mad! Great day. IvyBridge Christmas Market 2024. Always a festive and community feel to this event. Lots of people there including lots of Rockies coming to support each other. We had a lovely evening singing at the Tavistock Town Hall last night. It was a concert in conjunction with Tavistock Lions in front of a full house in aid of local charities. The Plymouth Rockies did us all proud and sang with real energy and emotion. It was a really great night and the feedback has been really positive. First time performing at the Family Fun Day in Plymouth. Nice community gig singing to lots of lovely people. They loved hearing us and joining in. Well done to the Plymouth Rockies for a thoroughly professional performance. We had to deal with high winds, heavy showers, an outdoor acoustic, a dog show (which was really cute). Sounded awesome and we had lots of positive feedback. There was lots of food and drink stalls at the event and I tried a vegan sausage roll for the very first time. (Sorry guys, I wasn't convinced!) To round off a fabulous Rock Choir couple of weeks we came back to Dawlish like we do every August to sing at the Dawlish Celebrates Carnival.
