Exe Valley String Trio at Killerton House.

A nice summer gig at National Trust Killerton last night in the summer sunshine. This time Exe Valley String Quartet went out as a trio with two violins and a cello to play a few pop and rock tunes while a large group of teachers had a BBQ to celebrate the end of term. Lovely venue. Appreciative audience. Enjoyable gig in the Devon countryside. www.musiciandevon.co.uk

Wedding Open Day at Rockbeare Manor.

On a very rare day off from playing at a wedding or corporate event somewhere across the South west of England we went over to Rockbeare Manor as a string quartet today to play for their wedding open day.  We met lots of couples who are getting married at this beautiful venue in the coming months and talked about the music they love and what their dream songs are for their bespoke ceremony ideas. Always a pleasure!

Local Church Wedding with Exe Valley String Quartet.

We absolutely love to play at a traditional church summer wedding. The acoustics are always great for string instruments. This is St Mary’s Church, Wolborough in Newton Abbot. We played a couple of new arrangements today which is always nice. ‘The Power of Love’ by Jennifer Rush for the Brides entrance and also ‘All for Love’ by Bryan Adams for the exit of the bridal party and guests. We like to play songs and pieces that have an emotional meaning for the happy couple. (We even played for the hymns)To contrast we played the beautiful Flower Duet during the signing of the register. Lovely wedding ceremony in a beautiful old church.
